WBB| Grizzlies Dominate Wildcats In Home Win

ALAMOSA, Colo – The Adams State University women's basketball team earned its' second win of the season Tuesday night in Plachy Hall. Adams State defeated Johnson and Wales College, 86-44.

Adams State came out firing in the first half outscoring Johnson and Wales 17-8 in the first quarter and a whopping 33-7 in the second. The Grizzlies earned a 50-15 first half lead over the Wildcats. Adams State shot an astounding 56 percent from the field and 72 percent from the free throw line.

The Grizzlies increased its' first half lead by seven in the second half as the team won by 42 points. Adams State held Johnson and Wales to just 40 percent shooting from the field with only two free throws given up. Adams State's defense was incredible allowing only 22 points in the paint and astonishingly zero fast break points.

Macy Meyers led the Grizzlies with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Brooke Neal, Nicole Mortensen, Savana Geringer, and Stephanie Ruiz all helped pitch in with 10 points each. The Grizzlies' bench stood out, scoring 42 points in the win.

Adams State will be back on the court December 1st to take on New Mexico Highlands University.  Tip off starts at 5pm in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
