Pueblo, Colo – The Adams State University women's basketball team received its' second consecutive loss against CSU-Pueblo Saturday night. With consecutive losses this weekend, Adams State falls to 2-2 for the season. The Grizzlies begin conference play 0-2 in the RMAC. Adams State will look to bounce back at home next weekend with a matchup against Western State Colorado University Friday evening.
CSU-Pueblo got off to a quick start that Adams State just couldn't come back from, earning an 89-55 win. The game began to get out of hand for Adams State in the first half, where CSU-P outscored them 46-24. Adams State shot just 25 percent from the field as Pueblo shot more than 50 percent.
The Pack increased its' lead in the second half, outscoring the Grizzlies 43-31. Adams State finished the game shooting 31 percent from the field with zero fast break points. It was a season low in bench scoring for Adams State with only 19 points coming off the bench. Adams State was outmatched in the paint giving up 42 points to Pueblo along with 36 points off the bench.
Despite the loss, Adams State had two girls finish in double digits in scoring, Brooke Neal with 12 points and three assists along with Macy Meyers who added 10 points of her own. Lejla Hadzalijagic and Stephanie Ruiz chipped in with nine and eight points respectively. Ki'asha Harris grabbed six rebounds, a team high for Adams State.
