ALAMOSA – The Adams State University women's basketball team finished its' first weekend at home against Colorado Mesa University. The Grizzlies suffered an 83-45 loss to an (8-1) Mavericks team at the top of the RMAC conference.

It was a slow start for Adams State as Colorado Mesa took a 20-6 first quarter lead. The Grizzlies would heat up in the second quarter outscoring the Mavericks 21-19. Adams State however would go cold in the third quarter, being outscored 24-11 to Colorado Mesa. The Mavericks increased its' lead by an extra 13 in the fourth defeating the Grizzlies 83-45.

Lejla Hadzialijagic was the only Grizzly who scored in double figures with 10 points. Hadzialijagic also led the Grizzlies with seven rebounds. Ki'asha Harris and
Nicole Broyles-Mortensen each finished with eight points for Adams State. Colorado Mesa's Jaylyn Duran led all scorers in points with 23. Kelli Van Tassel and Ma'ata Espinisa each scored double figures for the Mavericks with 15 and 12 respectively.

The loss drops the Grizzlies record to (2-4, 0-4) in the RMAC. After suffering its' first loss to Fort Lewis College the Mavericks move to (9-1, 3-1) in the conference. Adams State will be back on the court December 12
th to play Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
