DENVER, Colo. (March 18th, 2017) --- The Adams State women's lacrosse team lost a tough one in Denver today against Regis by a 19-2 score.
Â
Regis (6-0) came out determined to stay perfect on the year, and accomplished that task. The Rangers jumped out to a 3-0 lead around seven minutes into the game. Adams State (0-3) would not let it get away that quickly however as
Cera Cyester notched in an unassisted goal to make the game 3-1. Unfortunately, that would be the only offensive highlight for the Grizzlies until the final minutes of the game. After Cyester's goal, the Rangers went on a 16-0 run that lasted until only 8:42 remained in the game.
Cera Cyester again scored an unassisted goal at that time to solidify the final score of 19-2 in favor of the home team.
Â
Cera Cyester scored both of Adams State's goals on the afternoon.
Azeb Giday,
Cynthia Perez, and
Mireya Castro secured two ground balls each for the Grizzlies. Erin Todd, Erin Steiner, Rachael Walker, Anna Takushi, and Sarah Myres all scored three goals apiece for the Rangers.
Alyse Mims managed 11 saves for Adams.
Â
The team heads to Missouri next for a showdown with Lindenwood on Tuesday, March 21
st. That game will begin at 6:00PM Mountain Time.
