Alamosa, Colo. - The Adams State University volleyball team (5-5, 1-0 RMAC) dominated their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener at home tonight against the visiting South Dakota Mines Hardrockers (1-8, 0-1 RMAC) in a three set sweep.

In the first set, the Grizzlies won easily 25-16. The second set was a similar scene with a 25-16 win. The third set would not prove so easy. The Hardrockers were a lot more competitive, even holding an early 5-2 lead. The deficit would not last long as ASU scored the next five to take a narrow lead. The score remained close throughout the set, but it was the Grizzlies who were able to close it out on a 6-2 run to come out victorious on the night.

Hannah Goddard once again led the Grizzlies in kills with 14.
Mallory Grimsrud was close behind with 11, and also added two blocks.
Katelyn Schwartz dominated the assist category, recording 40 of the team's 43.
Gabrielle Timmen,
Hannah Goddard, and
Mackenzie Swanson all added an ace each. S.D. Mines leading scorer was Emily Newton with eight kills and four assisted blocks.
