Colorado Springs, Colorado. - The Adams State University volleyball team (6-7, 2-2 RMAC) again failed to win a set on the road tonight in a 0-3 loss against the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (6-6, 3-1 RMAC).

Despite a 0-3 loss, the Grizzlies did not get crushed by any means, keeping the first two sets within two points. With the Cougars holding a 19-14 lead late in the first set, the Grizz fought back on a 5-2 run before UCCS pulled away for the 25-23 win. A wild second set went way past 25 points. Adams led 26-25 late but needed to win by two. From there, the teams traded game point situations 16 times until a Cougar kill ended it 35-33. UCCS would go on to an easy 25-17 win in the third to come away victorious on the evening.

Mallory Grimsrud led ASU with 18 kills and an ace while
Katelyn Schwartz provided 43 assists. The Cougars were unselfish with four ladies recording double-digit kills on the night. Â

The team will remain on the road next weekend against Colorado Mesa on Friday and Western State on Saturday. Â
