Rapid City, South Dakota - The Adams State University men's basketball team (9-8, 7-4 RMAC) have won the first of two games in South Dakota tonight against South Dakota Mines (6-9, 3-7 RMAC) by a final score of 80-70.

Neither team could hold a substantial lead in the first half until Mike Thomas hit a jumper midway through to give the Grizzlies a 22-15 advantage. A late jumper by Brandon Sly would give Adams the largest lead of the game at 13. The Grizzlies would take the half 39-28. The Hardrockers persevered early in the second pulling within two points after a Logan Elers layup with 14:16 remaining. S.D. Mines would never get any closer as the Grizz earned its ninth win of the year.
