ALAMOSA – Adams State University women's lacrosse program made history this weekend, winning back-to-back games for just the second time in program history. Additionally, senior
Jessica Hammer made history becoming the first-ever Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the program, notching the honor of Defensive Player of the Week. The Grizzlies look to keep it going tomorrow against CSU-Pueblo in a conference game at home at 3 p.m.
Hammer's weekend was stat filled, packing the stats up with a pair of hat tricks for six goals, three assists, 17 ground balls, seven caused turnovers and seven draw controls. Her 12 groundballs against Johnson and Wales is a school record, breaking the seven year old record of 11.

She was not alone in Saturday's win at Johnson and Wales, with teammates Cera Cyster, sister
Samantha Hammer and
Savannah Penland all picking up hat tricks. Cyster led the team with five goals, while Samantha picked up four goals.
The team dominated Saturday, winning every statistical category. The shot count was 35-5 with shots on goals 23-4. The team forced 30 turnovers, had 43 ground balls and won two-thirds of the draw controls.
Alexis Wellong had a shutout half with three saves before making way for
