WLAX| Skyhawks Shutout Grizzlies

DURANGO – Adams State University women's lacrosse fell by way of shutout Friday afternoon in Durango against Fort Lewis College. The Grizzlies allowed 21 goals despite keeping most of the statistical categories even.

Fort Lewis opened the first half with 14 unanswered goals, putting the game out of hand within the first 14 minutes of the game at 10-0. The run would continue with seven in the second half, as eight different Fort Lewis players scored while two had four goals apiece.

Despite the lopsided score, Adams have nearly the same stats in saves, turnovers, clears, groundballs, free position shots and fouls. The Grizzlies were eight-of-nine on clears, one of the best percentages all season.

Shots were the difference, as Fort Lewis has 28 on goal of 34 shots compared to Adams eight on 15. Cera Cyster led the team, taking six of the shots

The Grizzlies travel to Pueblo to take on the Thunderwolves Sunday at noon.
