GOLDEN, Colo. – The Adams State Volleyball team loses in straight sets to No. 25 Colorado School of Mines Friday evening.
Set one began with Colorado School of Mines taking an early lead over Adams State. The Grizzlies would fight back to take the lead over the Orediggers, 17-16. Colorado School of Mines would go on to make one final push to close out Adams State, 25-23.
A fired up Adams State team came out blazing in set two. The Grizzlies would jump out to an early 13-10 lead midway through the set. Adams State went on to trade points with Colorado School of Mines till the very end. The Orediggers would go on to take set two, 25-22.
Despite losing the first two sets, the Grizzlies came out fighting in the third and last set. The Grizzlies found themselves in an early hole down 10-7 to the Orediggers. The Grizzlies refused to give in, bringing themselves back to tie the set at 20. However, the Grizzlies comeback would end there as the team would go on to lose to the Orediggers, 25-22.
Julianna Zamora finished the match as the team's leader in kills at 11. Rachael Ringler finished the night with 36 assists for the Grizzlies. Adams State ended the match with just 11 errors.
Adams State finishes the weekend with a match against University of Colorado-Colorado Springs tomorrow night at 5 p.m.
