Adams State Football Foundation to Launch Major Capital Campaign

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Football Foundation is seeking help from fans and Alumni in order to increase scholarship funding. The foundation committee is made up of former coaches and players including Coach Jeff Geiser, former football alums, Tim Walters and Manny Wasinger. The ultimate goal is to raise $150,000, which is equivalent to five full scholarships.

In NCAA Division II football, the maximum amount of full scholarships that can be awarded to a program is 36, each which total $30,000. This ranks eighth out of the eleven teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. "The Musket (Fort Lewis) and the Colorado Classic Trophy (Western State) have stayed in our possession but to compete for conference championships we need the support of our faithful alums and fans." With more scholarship dollars, Adams State would be able to sign more great talent and take the next step in becoming contenders in the RMAC.

Former head football coach and Adams State Hall of Famer Jeff Geiser is an avid proponent of the campaign, and is calling on Alumni to come forth and support their alma mater. Geiser, whose teams were perennial National Championship contenders in his time at the helm, is one of the major supporters of this cause in order to help restore greatness to an incredibly proud football tradition. "So many of us have benefitted from our time here at Adams State, and now it's time for us to give back. I'm writing the first check" Geiser said. He also gave an insightful breakdown as to how it can be done, and what it would take from each individual donor. "We need 150 donors at $1000 a year, $83 per month, 300 commitments at $500 a year, $42 a month, or 600 donors at $250 a year, $20 a month. Give what you can afford, and every dollar helps."
