This past Thursday, Adams State men's soccer fell in their season opener. Adams State was defeated by Concordia (Oregon) 1-0 in Portland, OR. Concordia's Kyle Dearborn scored the lone goal of the game on an assist by Nicholas Denley at the 17:01 mark. Senior Jacob Faircloth had two saves in the first half for Adams State. In the second half, the Grizzlies played stout defense as they would hold off the Cavaliers offense, holding them to zero corner kicks and kicks on goal. Adams State would take 17 shots in the game versus just 6 for Concordia, but were unable to convert on offense.
The Grizzlies continue their road trip with another conference game on Saturday against Saint Martin's University in Lacey, Washington. Adams State will look to finish their weekend trip with their first victory of the season. They open up conference play on September 20th at CSU-Pueblo, and play their first home game October 4th against Regis.
