ALAMOSA, Colo.— The Adams State University Men's Basketball continued the home portion of their season against South Dakota Mines. The Grizzlies battled hard but fell short in the contest by six points as South Dakota Mines defeated ASU, 75-69.
The Grizzlies battled it out early as they once again started the game leading 8-0. The Hardrockers rallied back and scored ten unanswered to take the lead.
Destan Williams,
Trace Dimeff, and
Kaelin Crane lead the Grizzles scoring, four points each in the first half, as SDM led 36-32.
The Grizzlies battled back in the second half and even took a one-point lead midway through, but again, the Hardrockers used small runs to recapture the lead. Adams State then tied the game at 69 with 4:27 remaining, however, free throws combined with two three-pointers put ASU away for good in the final four minutes.
The Grizzlies were led by
Malik Moore who posted 15 points and four rebounds. Also helping the Grizzlies was teammate Williams with 12 points and three rebounds.
The Grizzlies will return to their home court on Friday, Dec.18 against Colorado Mesa University with tip-off scheduled at 7:30 p.m. It will be the final game until the Grizzlies continue their season in 2021 with two games in Denver.
