ALAMOSA, Colo.— The Adams States University Men's Basketball opened the home portion of their schedule against CSU-Pueblo and won the contest 83-76 to improve to 2-0 on the season, the first time the Grizzlies have started 2-0 since 2013.
The Grizzles were in the lead after the first half, 34-24.
Nykolas Lange scored a 3-pointer assisted by
Destan Williams setting the Grizzlies in the lead early while
Kaelin Crane finished off the first half as the top scorer with 11 points.
The second half began with
Destan Williams and
Rylan O'Brien teaming up to add to the Grizzles lead. The Grizzles remained in the lead throughout the second half with CSU-Pueblo just a few points behind.
Malik Moore with a 3-point shot sets the Grizzles at 49-37 at the halfway point of the second half.
The Adams State Grizzlies was led by Crane. Crane had 23 points and six rebounds. Also helping the Grizzlies to victory was Williams with 20 points and five rebounds.
With the win, the Grizzles are now 2-0 and will return to the court on Saturday, Dec.12 against the South Dakota Mines with tip off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
