VB | Grizzlies fall in five sets to UCCS

ALAMOSA, Colo.- The Adams State University Volleyball team dropped a five set match to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Mountain Lions on Friday night inside Plachy Hall. The Grizzlies fell via set scores of 20-25, 25-17, 25-19, 19-25 and 15-10. With the loss the Grizzlies fall to 7-7 overall on the season and 3-2 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).

The Grizzlies appeared to be in the drivers seat as they won the opening set 25-20. Adams State had 15 kills while UCCS had 14.

The second and third set saw the Mountain Lions jump out to early leads and they did not let go. The fourth set was the closest set of the day with the Grizzlies leading multiple times before allowing the Mountain Lions to come back and tie it. Eventually Adams State pulled away for the win.

UCCS jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the fifth set before the Grizzlies rallied to make it a close final set.

Adams State will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 2, against CSU Pueblo.
