Adams State University is looking for their first win of the season when they host the Chadron State College Eagles for homecoming on Saturday afternoon.

The game will be streamed online through the RMAC Network. The radio broadcast will feature TJ Blackhurst on the call. Adams State University and KSPK-FM have extended their broadcast partnership for three years. The Grizzlies enter the game 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the RMAC after falling to Colorado Mesa in a historic game on Saturday.

Adams State was able to score two touchdowns in the game including a blocked punt that was returned by
Elijah Harper to the house.

ABOUT THE EAGLES
The Eagles are 2-4 for the season and 2-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Chadron State dropped games to Western Colorado (23-10), No. 22 Angelo State (28-24), Colorado Mesa (24-17) and CSU Pueblo (42-17) and have wins over South Dakota Mines (31-20) and New Mexico Highlands (46-16).

The starting quarterback is Dalton Holst, who has a 55.4 completion percentage as he has connected on 107-of-193 pass attempts for 1,343 yards. Elijah Myles is the top rusher for the Grizzlies with 85 carries for 420 yards (4.8 per carry). He has three touchdowns on the season.

Bobby Peele is a defensive terrorist for quarterbacks as he has intercepted five passes this season. Jeremiah Makahununiu is the top tackler with 51 total tackles, 3.5 for loss, on the season.

PAVING THE WAY
The Grizzlies are doing great defensively as
Bryce Hampton, who had three straight games with an interception, is tied for ninth with interceptions per game as he has four with is tied for ninth in Division II.

MAKING RMAC HISTORY
For a league that has been around since 1909, history was made on Saturday as it marked the first time two black head coaches faced off against each other in the sport inside the RMAC.

It is believed that Versie Wallace has been the only other black head football coach at a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference school prior to the current three head coaches. Wallace guided the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers from 1995 to 2000.

Fort Lewis College's Darrius Smith is the other current black football head coach in the RMAC. Colorado Mesa faces Fort Lewis this weekend in Durango while Adams State takes on the Skyhawks on November 6 in the Musket Game.

NEW LEADERSHIP
On April 26th, Adams State University removed the interim tag from Head Football Coach
Jarrell Harrison, who officially became the 24th coach in Adams State football history.

Harrison joined Adams State football in 2016 as a Running Backs Coach and Special Teams Assistant under former Head Coach Timm Rosenbach. He was promoted to interim head coach on January 5, 2021, after the resignation of former Head Coach Josh Blankenship. Blankenship finished his two-year tenure with the Grizzlies with an 8-14 (.364) overall record; 8-12 (.400) RMAC.

Harrison makes history for Adams State University as he becomes the first African American to lead the football program, in this, the University's 100th year.

IN THE POLLS
The Adams State Grizzlies earned one first-place vote and were selected to finish in seventh place in the RMAC by the conferences' ten head coaches while the Chadron State Eagles have been picked third.

AROUND THE RMAC
Colorado School of Mines' John Matocha and Mack Minnehan join South Dakota Mines' Isaiah Eastman as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Football Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.

In the standings, Colorado School of Mines and CSU Pueblo are the top teams in the conference as they are undefeated in the conference. Mines is the only undefeated team in the conference overall as they are a perfect 6-0.

Five games are on the docket this weekend in the RMAC and three are slated to start at 12:00 p.m. Colorado School of Mines and South Dakota Mines, CSU Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands and Colorado Mesa and Fort Lewis are set to start at noon. Chadron State and Adams State and Black Hills State and Western Colorado are set to kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
