WSOC | The Grizzlies are back on the road

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies are back on the road this weekend. The Grizzlies are set to first travel to South Dakota to play Black Hills State and then travel to Denver to play Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Up first for the Grizzlies is Black Hills State on Friday, October 15th, at 3:00 p.m. Black Hills State is currently in a five-game losing streak and the Grizzlies are looking to push that to six. They most recently lose to No. 12 University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, 5-0. Their overall record is 2-7, with a conference record of 1-5.

"Black Hills is very organized and tries to keep the ball to open up gaps and expose you," Head Coach Colin Baker said. "So, we will need to be organized and ready to battle."

Then, after playing Black Hills, the Grizzlies travel to play Metropolitan State University of Denver on Sunday, October 17th, at 1:00 p.m. Metropolitan State's overall record is 5-4-2, with a conference record of 2-4. They will be coming off of a game to New Mexico Highlands on Friday, October 15th. However, prior to that, Metropolitan State is on a three-game losing streak.

"Metro is a very good team with a lot of quality in every position. They're dangerous on the counter and they can also unlock you in possession," Baker remarked. "We will need everyone to be alert and know their job to come away with three points on Sunday."

The Grizzlies are coming off of a recent tie to Fort Lewis College. They will bring what they learned from last weekend into the rest of their season.

"Big weekend and opportunity for us heading into these two games. A lot of things are starting to take shape and we're putting in more work to execute the details of each third," Baker explained. "So, we're ready to go out and try to pick up six points this weekend."

Up next , the Grizzlies will be on the road against Colorado State University Pueblo and then get to come back home and play University of Colorado at Colorado Springs at the ASU Soccer Field.
