MSOC | Grizzlies fall to CSU Pueblo

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies took on Colorado State University Pueblo today, October 17th. It was warm and sunny in Alamosa and it was a perfect day for some soccer. Adams State lost 2-0 and fall to 1-12 on the season and 0-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

The first half started and the ThunderWolves came out fast. In the 8th minute, Carlos Sanchis scored. This put the Grizzlies behind early. The Grizzlies stepped up and fought back hard. They weren't able to find the back of the net so the first half ended with the score, 1-0.

The second half began and the Grizzlies started much more competitive than they did in the beginning of the game. The Grizzlies and the ThunderWolves went back and fought hard. It wasn't until the 70 th minute when there was a change in the score. Unfortunately, it wasn't in the Grizzlies favor. Due to a penalty in the box, Sanchis scored yet again. This made the score 2-0 and it would stay that way until the end of the game.

"Thought our boys played well today. I think we are getting closer to our potential. The saddest part is when you don't come into the season fit enough, and then have quarantine for 14 days, then you've basically lost your year," said Head Coach Brett Bentley. "I felt we've responded well to the change in tactics and personnel. All season we have had to play catch but quite frankly I believe we are finally getting to our best. I fully expect us to be competitive and finish."

Up next, The Grizzlies play at home on Wednesday, October 20th at 3:00 p.m. Then, the Grizzlies have another home game on Friday, October 22nd at 3:00 p.m.
