WSOC | Grizzlies play at CSUP, return home vs. UCCS

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies will play Colorado State University Pueblo and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs this weekend.

First, the Grizzlies are on the road and headed to Pueblo to play Colorado State University Pueblo on Friday, October 22nd at 3:00 p.m. In the most recent matchup with the ThunderWolves, the Grizzlies lost 1-0. This season, the ThunderWolves are 6-5-1 overall, with an RMAC conference record of 5-1-1. They are also on a one-game losing streak, and the Grizzlies are looking to push it to two. The ThunderWolves lost to Regis University 2-1.

"Big opportunity this weekend to keep moving forward together. CSUP is a very organized team that is direct and physical and very good at pressing you at all times.," said Head Coach Colin Baker. "It'll be a good challenge for us to be ready to go from the get-go."

 After the game against Colorado State University Pueblo, the Grizzlies return to the ASU Soccer Field and take on the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 24th. In the Grizzlies and the Mountain Lions' last matchup, the Grizzlies lost 6-1. 

"It'll be good to be at home again on Sunday. UCCS is one of the best teams you'll see in every position in the country," noted Baker. "They're very organized and good at keeping the ball at all times. But we're ready to go, and we're ready for the challenge in front of our home crowd."

Overall, the Mountain Lions are 10-3, with an RMAC conference record of 5-2. They most recently lost to Colorado School of Mines 2-1.

Up next, the Grizzlies are at home for the weekend as they play Westminster College and Colorado Mesa University. Also, that weekend, the Grizzlies will be honoring all their seniors as it is the last home games of the season.
