WSOC | Grizzlies fall to the Mountain Lions

– The weather couldn't have been better as the Adams State Grizzlies played the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Mountain Lions at the ASU Soccer Field.

The first half began and both the Grizzlies and he Mountain Lions came out fast. It wasn't until the middle of the first half until some team found the back of the net. Unfortunately for the Grizzlies, it was the Mountain Lions that did so. In the 22 ndminute Kaitlin Hinkle scored a goal with an assist from Tori Maydew. Then, within the next minute, the Mountain Lions scored again. Abby Barhydt scored wit an assist from Amelia Junge. The score would be 2-0 going into halftime.

The second half began and almost immediately Kaitlin Hinkle scored again. Even though the score was 3-0, the Grizzlies refused to give up. They allowed one more goal from a penalty kick in the 52nd minute before they answered back with a goal of their own. In the 85th minute Rachel Boyle scored with an assist from Emily Chamberlain. This goal would make the score 4-1 and there it would remain for the rest of the game. 

Up next, the Grizzlies play their last two home games. First, they play Westminster College on Friday, October 29th at 3:00 p.m. Then, the Grizzlies final home game of the season is Sunday, October 31 st at 1:00 p.m. against Colorado Mesa University.
