ALAMOSA, Colo. — The Adams State Grizzlies played against Colorado Mesa in their last home game of the season. The Grizzlies were looking to send their seniors off with a win.
The first half started and the Grizzlies came out strong. In the 17th minute, Kylie Chavez scored the opening goal with an assist from Alexandria Estrada and Justine Cardwell. This made the game 1-0 from the very beginning. The Mavericks looked to answer back but it wasn't until the 23rd minute when Haley Klasner scored with an assist from Lila Dere. The score would stay 1-1 for the rest of the first half.
The second half began and the score remained 1-1 for a good majority of the game. The Grizzlies and the Mavericks fought hard to be the next team to score. The game remained at 1 a piece all the way until the final 10 minutes. In the 82nd minute, Sydney Hathaway scored for the Mavericks. With very little time left, the Grizzlies tried to answer with a goal to tie it, but we're ultimately unable to. The Mavericks would win the game 2-1.
