LAWTON, Okla.—Despite 14 points from
Laura Gutierrez and a ten-point performance from
Stephanie Ruiz, the Adams State University women's basketball team fell to Cameron University, 90-60 on Friday night.
The first quarter was a fast and furious quarter that saw nearly 50 points scored between the two teams but a 6-of-8 showing by the Aggies saw them take a 30-19 lead after one stanza.
In the second quarter, Cameron hit seven field goals as they grew their lead as they outscored the Grizzlies 20-12. The Grizzlies were 0-for-6 from beyond the arch in the quarter.
With a 19-point advantage entering the second half, Adams State outscored the Aggies 18-15 as they were 6-of-13 from the field.
In the fourth quarter the Grizzlies were 4-of-20 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the three-point line.
As a team, Adams State was 22-of-66 (33.3 percent) from the field and 6-of-24 (25 percent) from beyond the arch. They hit 10-of-19 free throws.
The Grizzlies will have a quick turnaround as they are traveling to Wichita Falls, Texas to take on Midwestern State University Texas.
