PUEBLO, Colo. – The Adams State University volleyball team dropped a three-set non-conference match at CSU Pueblo on Saturday morning. The Grizzlies lost with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, and 25-17. They are now 0-4 on the season and maintain an 0-3 RMAC record.
ASU trailed 13-4 early in the first set but did the best they could to overcome that in the middle of the set. However, seven attack errors doomed the Grizzlies ad they fell in the first set 25-12.
The second set saw Adams State keep pace early in the set as it was tied at up to nine points. The ThunderWolves jumped out to a seven-point led, 20-13. They eventually fell, 25-15.
Like the second set, ASU was in the match early but they struggled to keep tabs on the ThunderWolves and fell.
Shannon Mulkey was the top attacker for the Grizzlies as she had nine kills on the day. As a team, Adams State struggled overall as they hit a 5.6 percent clip during the match.
Adams State will now be in action on Sunday, Feb. 21 when they travel to Denver for an RMAC Pod Weekend series. They are set to play Westminster at 1 p.m. and then the host Regis University Rangers at 4 p.m.
