DENVER—Despite battling early on Sunday, the Adams State University volleyball team dropped both games of Sunday's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pod Weekend series inside Regis Fieldhouse. The Grizzlies, now 0-6 on the season and 0-5 in the RMAC, dropped a five-set match to the Westminster Griffins and a three-set match with the host No. 20 Regis Rangers.

The first set saw both teams feel each other out before Westminster took a commanding 17-11 lead, and by the time Adams State tried to rally back, the Griffins had a hot hand.
The second set didn't see the Grizzlies pull away until they led 14-12. They then countered small surges by Westminster including two three-point surges late to get the 25-22 win.
Adams State couldn't find their footing the in third but the fourth saw ASU jump out to a big lead, however, Westminster came in and tied the match at seven and nine before taking a four-point lead at 19-15. Adams State then had back-to-back kills by Mulkey to help buoy them on a 10-4 run to close out the set with the win. They then fell behind early and couldn't come back in the fifth set.
Regis 3, Adams State 0
The Grizzlies fell in three sets in their second game to No. 20 Regis as they lost by scores of 19-25, 15-25, and 22-25. Mulkey was the leading attacker as she posted 10 kills and three blocks in the three-set match.

The match started strong as ASU even jumped out to an 11-5 lead in the opening set behind strong serving by
Bailey Schlosser and attacks by
Shaelyn Walton.
The Rangers then road hot hits and attack errors by the Grizzlies to the 25-19 win including a 13-4 run that allowed them to take a lead that they didn't relinquish.
The second set saw Adams State tie the game at four but then attacks and kills from all over the Rangers lineup helped them slip away with the ten-point win.
The third set was highly competitive with teams rattling off kills and the Grizzlies even leading by as many as four points on two occasions, however, attack errors late hurt the Grizzlies and they fell.
