ALAMOSA, Colo.—A back-and-forth affair inside Plachy Hall came down to just centimeters as the momentum shift just happened to be in favor of the visiting UCCS Mountain Lions as the match up ended with UCCS defeating Adams State in five sets on Thursday.
The Grizzlies, now 0-7 overall and 0-6 in the RMAC, won the first and fourth sets before UCCS, now 3-5 overall and 3-3 RMAC, won the first, fourth and fifth. The set scores were 25-20, 20-25, 19-25, 25-18 and 10-15.
Adams State was led offensively with three different players in double digit kills.
Shannon Mulkey and Anna Higgins each had 13 kills while
Shaelyn Walton had 10 kills. Mulkey hada game-high four blocks while
Bailey Schlosser had 38 assists.
The Grizzlies will travel to Lakewood on Monday, Mar. 1. Adams State a neutral site game against South Dakota Mines at 2:00 p.m. then will play host team Colorado Christian at 5p.m., in a make up pod weekend from Jan. 24
