ALAMOSA, Colo.—The Adams State University women's basketball team had a strong first quarter but a strong third quarter by the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers doomed the Grizzlies as CSM won 79-61 on Friday night.
Adams State flustered Colorado School of Mines early as the game was tied at nine before they took a 14-12 lead at the break. The Orediggers then turned on the heat by outscoring Adams State, 25-11 in the second stanza before the two teams played neck-and-neck in the final third and fourth quarters.
Adams State was the leading scorer with 14 points as she hit 5-of-12 from the field and 4-of-8 from beyond the arch.
As a team the Grizzlies shot 22-of-55 from the field and 11-of-30 from beyond the arch.
The Grizzlies will close out the regular season on Saturday when they host Regis at 5:30 p.m. The game will double as Senior Night as the Grizzlies will honor their lone senior
