SPEARFISH, S.D.—The Adams State Grizzlies Men's and Women's Track & Field teams closed out the 2021 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday in South Dakota, at the Black Hills State Donald E. Young Center Fieldhouse.
The meet served as Adams State's last opportunity to post qualifying times for the NCAA Division II National Championships which will be held in Birmingham, Alabama on March 11th through the 13th.
The Adams State women placed sixth with 33 team points, while the Adams State men finished in second with 97 team points.
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) claimed both the men's and women's team titles for the second consecutive year
In the men's 60-meter hurdles Adams State had a stellar performance by Leroy Elliott as he earned a silver medal posting a new personal best 8.15.
Jonah Vigil led wire-to-wire in the men's 400-meter dash, earning a gold medal with a time of 49.02.
In the men's 3,000-meter
Carson Bix earned a silver medal with a final time of 8:20.45. Also earning a medal was
Ahmed Sado in third with a time of 8:23.64. Davante Jett-Reynolds posted a time of 8:26.52, followed by Miguel Coca (8:31.79), and Mikah Piaz (8:45.89), who also competed.
In the woman's 3,000-meters
Brianna Robles earned a silver medal with a time of 9:57.87. Followed by Sarah Wills (10.19.71), and Emily Schoellkopf (10:41.67) also competed as well.
