PORTLAND, Ore.—The Adams State Track and Field team finished off their weekend in Oregon with new personal records and nationals qualifiers as they competed at the Portland Twilight at the Griswold Stadium.
Setting the tone for the Grizzlies was
Jonah Vigil as he placed first in the men's 400 meter dash as he posted a final time of 48.13.
In the men's 800 meters, James Dune finished strong as he placed second with a final time of 1:52.30.
The Grizzlies had five men compete in the men's 1500 meters. The top finished for the Grizzlies in this event was
Andrew O'Keefe as he battled until end and finished in first with a final time of 3:46.22. Mikah Paiz finished right behind O'Keefe as he posted a final time of 3:46.58, followed by
David Cardenas in fourth (3:46.80), Miguel Coca in eighth (3:48.49), and
Davonte Jett-Reynolds in ninth (3:49.34).
In the women's 1500 meter the stud Emma Wern set a new personal record as she finished in fourth with a final time of 4:24.51.
Morgan Hykes gave her full effort as she finished in 14
th with a final time of 4:36.73.
Finishing of the night was the women's 5,000 meters as Rosin Flanagan now holds the number one sport in this event in the nation. Flanagan took the lead as she pushed the pace to run a final time of 15:47.57.
Brianna Robles ran an impressive race as she held on to the pack and finished in fourth. Robles set a new personal record as she posted a final time of 16:24.72.
Haleigh Hunter-Galvan finished strong as she finished in sixth with a final time of 16:33.91, followed by
Kaylee Bogina who placed seventh as she posted a final time of 16:43.27.
The Grizzlies had an outstanding week with many impressive performances. They will be looking forward to adding onto their success as they will take a group to New Jersey next week to compete at the Trials of Miles meet on May 15.
