ALAMOSA, Colo. — The Adams State Grizzlies hosted Colorado School of Mines this evening. Although the Grizzlies played them right, the Orediggers finished out on top 57-52.

Straight from the tip off the Grizzlies dominated. The Grizzlies and the Orediggers went back and forth trading baskets, but the Grizzlies seemed to have all the momentum. They started the 2nd quarter down, 18-14 but ended that quarter on top. The score going into halftime was 36-23. The Grizzlies held the Orediggers to only 5 points in the second quarter.

In the beginning of the second half, the Grizzlies held their lead but the Orediggers slowly creeped back. At the end of the third quarter, the Orediggers lessened the lead to nine, as the score was 45-36, Grizzlies. However, it was during the fourth quarter when the Orediggers went on their run that would ultimately lead to them winning the game. The Grizzlies scored seven points in the 4th quarter to the Orediggers 21. The Orediggers held out against the Grizzlies' never ending pressure and won the game with a score of 57-52.

Up next, the Grizzlies are on the road as they play Black Hills State in South Dakota and Chadron State in Nebraska. The games are at 5:30 p.m. on February 4th and 5th.
