ALAMOSA, Colo. — The Adams State Grizzlies traveled to Spearfish, South Dakota to play Black Hills State. Even though the number two ranked team in the conference was down most of the game, they prevailed in the end. The Grizzlies pushed the game to overtime before the Yellow Jackets won 67-65.
From the tip off, the crowd knew that it was going to be a close game. The Grizzlies and Yellow Jackets exchanged baskets for the beginning of the game. After awhile the Grizzlies seemed to make a run, but the Yellow Jackets wouldn't go away. The end of the first half score was 31-29, with the Grizzlies on top.
The second half began just like the first half. The Grizzlies could never seem to completely pull away. The rest of the game the Grizzlies and the Yellow Jackets remained neck and neck. At the end of regulation, the two teams even tied, which sent the game to overtime. Freshman guard

Overtime started with the Grizzlies going 1-2 at the free throw line twice. Those next five minutes continued to be just like the previous 60 minutes. However, this time it resulted with the Yellow Jackets on top as they scored a buzz-beater. The final score of the game was 67-65, Yellow Jackets.
Up next, the Grizzlies play Chadron State and then have a four home games. The Grizzlies are hosting Colorado Mesa University, Westminster College, Western Colorado, and Fort Lewis.
