DURANGO, Colo. -- Texas Permian Basin pulled away from Adams State University in the second half and recorded a 79-67 win.
The Falcons improved to 2-0 on the young season. The Grizzlies dropped to 0-2. Neither team has played a conference game.
Lamont Sanders led ASU with 16 points. Isaiah Sampson was next with 12. Azariah Seay led the Falcons with 30 points, including a perfect 16-for-16 from the free-throw line. Daniel O'Moody added 13, and Nathaniel Powell chipped in with 11.
ASU made 46 percent of its field goals, including four from the 3-point line. The Falcons made just 38 percent of its field goals but converted 40 of 45 tries from the free-throw line.
ASU will try it again at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Northern New Mexico College in Durango.
