ALAMOSA, Colo.— Behind a spread attack that saw five different players score ten or more points, the Adams State University Grizzly Women's Basketball Team was able to come back from the holiday break with an 82-52 win over the Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets inside Plachy Hall on Friday night.
The Grizzlies opened the game shooting 50-percent from the field as they hit 6-of-12 and took a 16-13 lead.
The second quarter saw the Grizzlies outscore the Yellow Jackets by ten, 23-13, in the second quarter to take a 39-26 lead into the break.
The Grizzlies did not slow down the pace in the third quarter outscoring Black Hills by 11, 23-11, and taking a 62-38 lead to the final quarter.
As a team the Grizzlies finished 27-of-51 (52.9 percent) from the field including 10-of-24 (41.7 percent) from beyond the arch and 18-of-28 (64.3 percent) from the free throw line.
Harmanie Dominguez led the Grizzly attack with 17 points while
Kiiyani Anitielu scored 15,
Angelline Nageak scored 14 and
Nyeniea John scored ten.
The Grizzlies will close out 2023 with an afternoon affair with fellow RMAC-foe South Dakota Mines with tip-off scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
