ALAMOSA, Colo.--A 25-5 run in the second half helped the Adams State University Grizzlies erase a 16-point halftime deficit, however, the Fort Lewis SKyhawks were able to pull away late for a 86-69 win on Friday night inside Plachy Hall.
The Skyhawks capitalized on a 61 percent shooting performance in the first half to take a 47-31 lead.Â
The Grizzlies than rallied back and used a 17-2 run to cut the lead down to two, 62-60 before they tied the game at 66. Adams State, however, could not stop the Skyhawks, who shot 26-of-33 from the free throw line, thanks in part to 23 personal fouls called on the Grizzlies.Â
Adams State finished the game shooting 24-of-59 from the field including 12-of-22 from beyond the arch.Â
Kaelin Crane was the leading scorer with 20 points while
Rylan O'Brien scored 19.
The Grizzlies return to action on Saturday in a rivalry matchup with Western Colorado starting at 7:30 p.m.
