SB | Grizzles battle, drop one-run games to Orediggers

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State University softball team rallied in both of their games on Saturday afternoon at the ASU Softball Field, however, the Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines did just enough to get two one-run games, 5-4 and 2-1.

GAME 1: Colorado School of Mines 5, Adams State 4 (8 inn.)
The first game saw Tayler Duncan have a stellar outing as she only allowed four single runs in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings. Only three of the runs were earned in the putting.

Adams State looked to be down and out as they saw the bases loaded with two outs. The Grizzlies had Belinda Vargas who drove a deep fly ball to centerfield for a grand slam to tie the game at four.

The Orediggers were able to get the winning run across the plate with a sacrifice bunt in the top of the eighth.

Game 2: Colorado School of Mines 2, Adams State 1
The second game was a pitcher's duel as the Grizzlies struck first with a double to right field. The Grizzlies then allowed a single run in the fifth and a single run in the sixth.

Jade Garbiso was tabbed with the loss despite getting seven innings of work in and surrendering two runs, only one earned. She allowed six hits and one walk while striking out four batters
