BASE | Grizzlies drop two at Orediggers

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Grizzlies finished their last away series against Colorado School of Mines today with a double header consisting of a nine-inning game and seven inning game.

Game 1: Orediggers 6, Grizzlies 2
The Orediggers scored the first three runs of the game with two runs in the bottom of first and a run in the bottom of the second inning. The Grizzlies scored their first run of the game with a single by Mike Bathauer to score Matt Bathauer. The Orediggers responded with another run in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Grizzlies then scored a run in the top of the eighth inning with a single by Matt Bathauer to score Jace Wytulka. The Orediggers responded with two of their own in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Grizzlies started right-handed pitcher Ty Addington. He was handed the loss for the Grizzlies bringing his record to 0-1. He threw four innings giving up three earned runs with two walks and three strikeouts.

Game 2: Orediggers 9 Grizzlies 3
The Grizzlies opened up the game with a sacrifice fly by Mike Bathauer to score Matt Bathauer. The Orediggers put up a single run in both the bottom of the second inning and the third inning. The Grizzlies tied the game in the top of the fourth inning with an infield single by Landon Faber to score Cedric Reynaud. The Orediggers then scored seven unanswered runs with two in the bottom of the fourth inning and five in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Grizzlies then scored a run in the top of the sixth inning with a double by Orlando Romero to plate Cedric Reynaud.

The Grizzlies started right-handed pitcher Cutter Smith in the final game of the series. He was handed the loss for the Grizzlies bringing his record to 1-7. He threw four innings giving up four runs with one walk and two strikeouts.

Up Next:
The Grizzlies will finish their season with a series against New Mexico Highlands next week starting on Friday. The Grizzlies will play a double header both days consisting of a nine and a seven-inning game both days.
