Hinojosa Recognized as Second Team All-South Central Region Designated Hitter

CANYON, Texas — On Monday, May 18, the Division II Conference Commissioners Association announced its Baseball All-South Central Region teams, and Adams State Grizzlies freshman Osaias Hinojosa earned recognition for his standout debut season, being named Second Team All-South Central Region as a designated hitter.

The regional honor adds to an already impressive list of accolades for Hinojosa, who was previously named RMAC Freshman Player of the Year, earned Second Team All-RMAC honors, and was selected as National Hitter of the Week following his remarkable performance against Colorado School of Mines earlier this season.

Hinojosa closed out his freshman campaign with a .410 batting average, recording 57 hits, 13 doubles, 11 home runs, 54 RBIs, and 39 runs scored, while posting a 1.222 OPS. His .410 average, 54 RBIs, and 1.222 OPS each rank fourth all-time for a single season in program history, while his 11 home runs are tied for fifth all-time in Adams State Grizzlies history.

Overall, Hinojosa put together one of the most impressive freshman seasons in recent program history, and the All-South Central Region selection serves as another well-deserved recognition of his outstanding year.
