Grizzlies Split Friday Doubleheader with Regis

DENVER, Colorado — In a Friday afternoon doubleheader, the Grizzlies split with the Regis Rangers. The Grizzlies won today's first game by a final score of 8-5, while falling in game two by a final score of 15-5. The Friday split puts the Grizzlies at a record of 12-36(7-23 RMAC) with two games remaining in their season.

Game 1

Adams State put together one of its more complete offensive performances of the season, riding timely hitting and a shutdown effort out of the bullpen to secure an 8–5 win over Regis.

The Grizzlies racked up 13 hits and showed production throughout the lineup, led by a perfect day from Christian Altamirano. The designated hitter went 3-for-3, scored once, drove in a run, and reached base five times after being hit by two pitches. Osaias Hinojosa added a strong performance of his own, going 3-for-5 with a run scored, while Josh Parks chipped in two hits, an RBI, and a stolen base.

The biggest swing of the day came off the bat of Isaiah Pruitt, whose three-run home run provided a major boost to the Grizzlies' offense. Pruitt finished with three RBIs, helping Adams State build a cushion they would not relinquish. Seth Reker and Macs Carrillo each added an RBI, while Ryan Vandever contributed two hits to keep innings alive.

On the mound, Austin Delgado earned the win with a solid five-inning outing. He allowed four runs on five hits while striking out six, working through traffic as Regis drew four walks but limiting the damage when it mattered.

Connor Kerns was dominant in relief, locking down the final four innings to earn the save. He allowed just one run on two hits while striking out two, effectively shutting the door on any potential Rangers comeback.

Adams State's ability to capitalize early and get key hits in run-producing situations proved to be the difference, as the Grizzlies combined disciplined pitching with timely offense to secure the victory.

Game 2

In game two of Friday's doubleheader, Adams State couldn't keep pace with a high-powered Regis offense, falling 15–5 as the Rangers used an early surge to take control.

The Grizzlies showed flashes offensively, collecting nine hits and getting big swings from the middle of the lineup. Ayden Tauscher led the way with a standout performance, going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, and two RBIs while scoring twice. Osaias Hinojosa also had a strong day at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and a walk. Seth Reker added a pair of hits and an RBI, while Macs Carrillo chipped in with a double.

Despite the offensive production, Adams State found itself in an early hole it couldn't recover from. Regis erupted for eight runs in the opening inning against starter Joseph Marek. The Rangers continued to apply pressure, adding three more runs over the next two innings to build an 11–0 lead.

CJ Pino provided some stability out of the bullpen, and Julian Garza followed with four innings of work, but Regis continued to find ways to produce, finishing with 17 hits on the day.

Adams State showed resilience late, plating five runs to cut into the deficit, highlighted by home runs from Tauscher and Hinojosa, but the early damage proved too much to overcome.

With the split on the day, the Grizzlies will look to regroup and finish the series strong as they head into the final stretch of the season with just two remaining games. Tomorrow's games will start at noon MST again being held at the home field of Regis. Follow along on the RMAC Network as the Grizzlies will close out the 2026 season tomorrow with two final games.
