ALAMOSA, Colo. - Eastern New Mexico held off Adams State 2-1 in the final non-conference macth up for the Grizzlies on Tuesday afternoon. The Greyhounds improved to 3-2-1, while ASU fell to 0-6.
Alexander Meres (21st minute with an assist from Mathieu Beuvain) and Jaime Oliva (35th minute) scored the goals for ENMU.
Brendan Koplin scored for the Grizzlies. It came in the 51st minute, and
Quincy MacDonald drew the assist.
ENMU's Greyhounds outshot Adams State 15-7. Nine of ENMU's shots were on goal, and Grizzlies' goalkeeper
Logan Rabasca made seven saves. Seven of ASU's shots were on target, and ENMU goalkeeper Paul Waschkau made three saves.
Adams State travels to Colorado Springs for a match at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. The Lions beat the Grizzlies 2-1 last year.
