ALAMOSA, Colo. – A Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) top-five women's basketball game between the Westminster College Griffins and the Adams State University Grizzlies a second half surge lead to the Grizzlies extending their winning streak to four games, 70-55
The Grizzlies, now 13-5 overall and 9-3 in the conference while the Griffins dropped their third straight and are now 9-9 overall and 7-5 in the conference.
Friday night's game saw both teams struggle to score early and each score 14 points before the Grizzlies took a 28-27 halftime advantage.
The Grizzlies pulled away in the third quarter by outscoring Westminster by eight, 19-11 and then closing out the game by outscoring the Grizzlies 23-17.
Harmonie Dominguez led the scorers for the Grizzlies with 18 points as she hit 7u-of-11 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arch. Four other players scored ten or more points.
The Grizzlies will return to action next Friday and Saturday when they hit the road for two pivotal RMAC games. They will play Friday at MSU Denver at 5:00 p.m. before they take on No. 19 Colorado School of Mines on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
