DENVER -- Metropolitan State University of Denver used 18 points from Tyrei Randall and 14 more from Luke Jones to an 82-66 win over Adams State Jan. 27.
Jaden Kennis added nine more for the Roadrunners, whose record improved to 8-11, 5-8 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. ASU's record fell to 3-16, 1-12 in the RMAC.
Maison Adeleye led the Grizzlies with 21 points.
Luke Williams scored 12, and
Isaiah Sampson contributed 10.
In terms of field goals, ASU made one less shot from the floor but had a better shooting percentage. The Roadrunners made up for that by making 10 of 32 from 3-point land. The Grizzlies made just four in 19 tries. The Roadrunners outrebounded ASU 44-34. The game featured two ties and just one lead change.
Metro converted Adams State turnovers into 26 points. ASU scored just 12 points off Roadrunners' turnovers.
Adams State continues its Denver swing with a 7 p.m. game Saturday, Jan. 28, at Lockridge Arena at the Colorado School of MInes.
