Destan Williams helped lead the Grizzlies to a 2-0 record to start on Saturday as they defeated the Western New Mexico Mustangs, 78-73.
The nailbiting affair saw the game tied at 34 after the first half before finally pulling away in the second half.
Adams State shot 46 percent from the field.
The Grizzlies return to action on Friday, Nov. 17 when they travel to Fort Lewis College to take on the Eastern New Mexico Grayhounds as part of the Skyhawks Hardwood Classic. They wull then play the Mustangs again on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
