ALAMOSA, Colo. - Breaking a remarkable 668-week streak, the Adams State University women's basketball team has earned recognition in a national poll.
The Division II National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (D2CSC) poll for Week 6, released earlier this week, showcased the Grizzlies securing the 22nd spot, marking their inaugural appearance in the Top 25 since March 6th, 2011.
Published every Monday, the regional poll, composed of six representatives (two per conference), is followed by the national poll every Tuesday, featuring 16 voters, with 2 from each region.
Sporting an overall record of 10-3 this season, the Grizzlies maintained a consistent presence in the regional polls, except for two instances. Following a three-game losing streak that temporarily knocked them out of the rankings, the team rebounded with an impressive six-game winning streak. In the latest rankings, they ascended from seventh to the third position in the South Central Region, trailing behind Texas Women's (10-1) and Colorado School of Mines (11-1).
During the winter break, the Grizzlies are gearing up for their return to action. Their next challenge awaits in South Dakota, where they will face the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets on Friday, Jan. 5th.
