ALAMOSA, Colo. -- Adams State University completed a weekend sweep of Denver-area Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opponents Feb. 25 by beating Metropolitan State University of Denver 61-50 in Plachy Hall.
The win pushed ASU's mark to 20-8 this season, 16-6 in the RMAC. The Roadrunners slipped to 15-13 overall and 13-9 in the RMAC.
Kiiyani Anitielu led the Grizzlies with 17 points. Two of her seven baskets were from 3-point range.
Riahana Davis added 10. Kendra Parra was the only Roadrunners' player to reach double figures. She scored 19 points, including one basket from 3-point range. Mikylah Espinosa and Tosjanae Bonds scored eight points.
The game featured five ties and nine lead changes. The Grizzlies made 45 percent of their tries from the floor and one-third of their efforts from 3-point land. MSU shot 27 percent from the floor. Parta's 3-pointer was the only long-distance basket in the game for the Roadrunners.
Next up is the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. Place and tip time have not been announced.
