CHADRON, Neb.—The Grizzlies had an impressive start to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship (RMAC) as many Grizzlies advanced to the finals.
Davonte Jett-Reynolds ran a strategic race as he stayed consistent throughout the race and qualified in the 1500 meter final as he ran a time of 3:57.13.
Mitchell Dervin as completed in this event and finished 16th (4:03.80), followed by
Nathan Scherbarth who finished 17th (4:04.02),
Yonas Haile who finished 20th (4:05.73), and Joaquin
Herrera finished 22nd (4:09.93).
Jonah Vigil ran well as he qualified in the 400 meter final with a time of 46.86.
Neveh Jones also advanced to the finals as he qualified in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 54.83.
Michael Fonseca also competed in this event and finished 15th with a time of 57.58.
On the women's side
Nicole Lawrence advances to the finals in the 1500 meters as she runs a time of 4:28.30. Two other women who also showed great efforts in this event and advanced to the finals is
Maggie McCleskey with a time of 4:39.49 and
Amalia Dorion with a time of 4:40.14.
To finish of the day
Alese Sartain advances to the finals in the 100 meters as she ran a new personal record clocked at 11.96.
The Grizzlies will be back on the track tomorrow with field events scheduled to begin at 9:15 am followed by running events beginning at 4:30.
