ALAMOSA, Colo. – Despite applying steady pressure on the Eastern New Mexico Grayhound defense, the Adams State University Grizzlies were only find the back of the net once on Thursday afternoon at the ASU Soccer Field. Eastern New Mexico took a 4-1 win.
ENMU scored the first goal in the 18 th minute before another goal came in the 20 th minute. Neither team was able to get anything for the remainder of the first half with the Grayhounds taking a 2-0 halftime lead.
They scored the third goal in the 50th minute as Giani Mascarel earned his second goal of the game.
Emmanuel Kolleh was in the right spot as he found a lane down the middle and found the back of the net off a pass of
Tyler Zimbounellis for the first goal of the season for Adams State. The game came in the 73rd minute, however in the 74 th minute, ENMU got the goal back with a goal of their own.
The game had five yellow cards including three by the Grizzlies. Adams State was outshot 14-3, including 6-0 in the first half and 8-2 with shots on goal.
The Grizzlies will return to action on Saturday when they take on Lubbock Christian at 2:00 p.m. at the ASU Soccer Field.
