SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – 32 turnovers, from 22 steals led to the Adams State University Grizzlies to pull out their third straight win on Friday as they defeated the Westminster Griffins, 92-81.
Kayla Harris was a two way player but defensively she had six steals in the game while denying one shot. Offensively she tallied 12 points including two from deep. Five different Grizzlies scored 11 or more points with Riri Davis, who was 6-of-10 from the field, leading the way with 16 points.
Adams State jumped out early and did not look back as they led 20-12 after the first frame. They repeated the same score in the second quarter to take a 40-24 lead at the break. The Griffins outscored the Grizzlies in the third quarter 29-18 before Adams State scored 20 in the fourth to close out the game.
The Grizzlies now 14-6 overall and 9-3 in the RMAC return home next week when they host MSU Denver and Colorado School of Mines in pivotal games. Tip off is slated for 5:30 p.m. both days.
