RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Adams State University men's basketball team pulled out a come-from-behind win on Saturday afternoon at the King Center as they defeated the South Dakota Mines Hardrockers, 83-77.
The Grizzlies are now 4-9 overall and 2-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).
A 7-of-12 showing from the field including three treys by
Destan Williams paced the Grizzlies as he finished the night with 26 points. Auatin Fadal finished with 16 points while
Isaiah Sampson scored 11.
Adams State saw the Hardrockers take a quick lead and eventually jump out to their biggest lead of ten at 23-13 with 10:45 left in the first half. Over the ensuing 9:15, Adams State outscored South Dakota Mines 32-19 to take a 45-43 lead at the break.
The second half was a back and forth affair that didn't see a team get too far out in front of the other and with 3:37 left in the game, the Hardrockers held their last lead of the game at 73-72.
Looking ahead, Adams State aims to bounce back on Friday, Jan. 12, when they travel to Denver, Colo., to face the Regis Rangers at 7:00 p.m.
