Chadron, Neb. – Adams State University (0-5, 0-3) continued their tough season with a challenging road loss to Chadron State (2-3, 1-2), falling 52-3 on a sunny afternoon at Don Beebe Stadium. The game was decided early, as Chadron State's offense dominated from the outset and Adams State struggled to gain momentum.
Adams State's defense was on the field early as Chadron State jumped out to a commanding 28-0 lead by halftime. Chadron quarterback DJ Ralph led the way with two touchdown passes and a 41-yard rushing touchdown. The Grizzlies were unable to find any rhythm offensively, with multiple drives ending in punts or turnovers, including a 36-yard interception return for a touchdown by Logan O'Brien in the second quarter.
The Grizzlies' lone score came in the third quarter, thanks to a 46-yard field goal from Brysen Gardner. That kick capped off one of their few successful drives, but Chadron State responded with more firepower, extending their lead with two more touchdowns and a field goal before the game ended.
While the offense struggled to find its rhythm, Adams State showed flashes of potential in both the running and passing game. The defense made several key stops, forcing Chadron to work for their points and limiting them to field goals on some possessions. Christian Toeleiu led the team with nine tackles, while Aiden Shields added eight tackles, including a sack.
Adams State plays at home next weekend against Colorado Mesa at 1 p.m. as they continue to seek their first win of the season.
