Adams State Outguns Texas Permian Basin in High-Scoring Showdown

Alamosa, Colo. – Adams State continued their hot start to the season with a high-scoring 95-88 victory over Texas Permian Basin Sunday afternoon. The Grizzlies improved to 2-0, riding a powerful offensive display in the second half that saw them score 61 points to put away the visiting Falcons.

Jude Tapia was the star of the day for the Grizzlies, delivering a 28 point performance. Tapia was lethal from long range, sinking 6 of his 9 three-point attempts. Ta'Veus Randle added 17 points, making critical contributions in the paint and at the free-throw line, where he shot a near perfect 6-for-7.

Adams State also benefited from the strong play of John Harge, who filled the stat sheet with 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists. His hustle on the boards was a key factor to the Grizzlies out rebounding the Falcons 39-30. Cameron Kimble also made his presence felt with 6 points, 8 rebounds, and a team-high 7 assists, showcasing his versatility.

On the other side, Texas Permian Basin put up a valiant effort, led by Dario Domingos who scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Maison Adeleye and Alex Matthews chipped in with 11 and 15 points respectively. The Falcons struggled to keep up in transition, where the Grizzlies capitalized with 29 fast-break points.

With this win, Adams State once again opens the season 2-0 and look to continue their win streak as they move into non-conference play Friday.
