Wichita Falls, Texas — In a game filled with high-intensity action and dramatic momentum shifts, Adams State (3-1) suffered a narrow 119-116 defeat to Midwestern State (3-1) in double overtime Saturday night.
The game featured standout performances from both teams. For Adams State, Jude Tapia led the charge with a stellar 36 points, including eight three-pointers. Wyatt Helming contributed 22 points, while Ta'Veus Randle added 18 before fouling out in the closing moments. Luke Williams secured a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, showcasing his all-around impact.
Adams State surged late in the second half to force the first overtime, powered by Tapia's hot shooting and defensive stops. However, Midwestern State's Mason Gibson and Pierre Sanders combined for critical baskets in crunch time, with Gibson finishing as the game's leading scorer with 33 points.
